Nope, still no computer. Soon, though…very soon; amazing how much I miss that silly thing! The boys are at Erick’s mom’s house today, bless her amazing heart, and I’m over at MY mom’s house; taking advantage of her computer. I’m so backlogged on what I want to share with you, I don’t know if I’ll ever catch up! But I’ll try, in bits and pieces…
The boys and I went over to visit friends yesterday…oh y’all, I have some kinda connections. Some connections with the owner of a big red barn; my children literally spent the day swinging from the rafters and jumping in the hay bales, and riding the horses, and I’m of the mind that that is the best kind of schooling they could possibly have. 😉 They came home with hay in their ears. Yup. Exhausted and dirty and oh so happy. We are going to make this a weekly event!!
{hello, big red beautiful thing, you}
And oh, just oh. These dear friends just purchased this house; it’s an 1800’s farmhouse, and because they just bought it and haven’t had the chance to delve into it yet, whenever I see it I decorate it in my mind, over and over again (of course)… oh the potential. Shoot. Not even the potential. I’m happy just sitting on the bare floor. I just gasp every time I look at these pictures!
{hello character. hello french doors. hello old light fixtures…hello picture window looking out into the pasture. and hello original tin ceilings!}
There are so many wonderful nooks and crannies in this house; I’m hoping to get to know it very well. 😉 While you have to take the work associated with old houses, it’s so worth it if you can, in my opinion. Nothing like living in such history!
So yes, summer is almost officially over; although I’m hanging onto it with all of my might, truth be known. I am such a summer girl. The boys have begun their homeschool though, complete with obvious field trips to farms. 🙂 Speaking of which, I ran across this article this morning; really intriguing. I’d love to know your thoughts! I think there is quite a bit of truth to it…
Anyway, so much to do today while the kidlets are away! Will write again soon; so very, very much to share with you!

Isn’t crazy how reliant we are on computers?!? Sounds like you had an amazing visit at your friends home. What a gorgeous house. I can see so many possibilities. Fantastic article – I agree with all of it.

This house looks great! And the horse is so cute! I love riding horses but I don’t do it half as often as I would like to these days… Hope you’ll get your computer back soon! I know how frustrating it is to manage without it…
Here in Scandinavia the summer is definitely long gone… It keeps raining and it’s about 10 degrees C over here. Not too fun, but it gives me more inspiration to decorate inside, so I guess that’s a good thing 🙂
